The Florida Asian American Justice Alliance (FAAJA) is hosting a critical Town Hall Meeting on April 28th, 2026, to address the escalating safety concerns facing the AAPI community in Florida. This gathering serves as a proactive response to recent violence—such as the distressing attack on Orlando Chinese restaurant staff—and aims to transform fear into organized action.

The Town Hall will focus on four strategic pillars:

• Sharing Groundbreaking Safety Data: FAAJA will present the full findings of the 2025 Statewide Safety Survey, which revealed that 52% of AAPI adults are worried about their safety and 14% have already experienced physical harassment.

• Direct Engagement with Public Safety: We have invited representatives from the Police Department and Fire Department to directly address local safety issues and provide professional guidance on emergency response.

• Improving Business Security through CPTED: To protect our local entrepreneurs, the meeting will introduce Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) strategies. This focus aims to improve the physical environment of AAPI businesses—such as through better lighting and strategic layout—to deter criminal activity.

• Legislative Advocacy and Future Policy: We have invited Florida Legislators to discuss long-term solutions for improving safety awareness and developing statewide prevention measures specifically for the AAPI community.
